I have never worked for a company that focused solely on the negative and managed by intimidating employees. Everyone spends their time and energy on covering their ass and just trying to do enough not to get fired. Management has created an environment where no one cares about the company, the only thing that matters is getting the next paycheck.
I work with customers interested in transportation and warehousing needs. My main objective is to provide the customer with enough service so that they do not complain to management about me.
Executive management has no clue on how to bring out the employees best qualities and to create a working environment were everyone feels they are part of team. The Owner/President of the company said that he does not know how to give praise. The Chief Operations Office feels he has to make every decision and does not care to listen to anyone's opinion. He thinks that he is using the Kaizen Continuous Improvement Process, but instead he is falling back on his military training in the US Army, standing attention, speak only when spoken to, "yes sir", and I order you to do as I say. It would be very difficult to make any job better at this company without a complete change in ownership and management.
